That seems like a strong daring novel. As soon as I finish 'My Goat Ate Its Own Legs', I definetely will check that one out.

Patrick, I'm glad you're reading "Goat". I don't think the stories got that much attention. I am looking forward to a novel by the author.
As for Summertime...I think that Amazon UK calls it an autobiography and Amazon US calls it fiction. It's both. I hope it wins the Booker and Penguin can sell it earlier than 12/24 in the U.S.

I did like the first story, My Goat Ate Its Own Legs, and a few more like you said. The hard part of putting together a collection is that the reader's preference for this or that story is always subjective. I did not like the one about the narrator's attraction to stones or pet rocks or a girl who dated the grim reaper. But the first one, (Spoiler Alert)I thought it was raw and great and insane to keep a goat that ate its own legs and have it dream of running in the field as it paddled in the pond with its stumps! I definetely would advocate for a lively writer like that.
